TIP: You can create a copy of your custom theme to test changes on your free test site.

  • Go to the web app ->
  • Select the Posts tab ->
  • Select the Design button ->
  • Scroll down and select the Edit Custom Themes button ->
  • Select your theme ->
  • Select the Duplicate button.

TIP: You can link to individual categories in the menu of your site by using the Pages feature.

  • Go to the web app ->
  • Select Posts ->
  • Select Pages ->
  • Select New Page ->
  • Use the Page Title for the menu item name ->
  • Put the category URL in the body of the page.

TIP: You can see from where the themes available for Hosted sites originate, having been adapted and then shared on GitHub.

  • Go to the web app ->
  • Select the Posts tab ->
  • Select the Design button ->
  • Look below the themes and select in the theme credits.

TIP: You can continue to edit your site’s theme without using custom templates, using instead a mix of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

  • Go to the web app ->
  • At the top select the Posts tab ->
  • Select the Design button ->
  • Scroll down then use the Edit CSS and Edit Footer buttons.

TIP: To remove the built-in Archive and About pages from your site’s main menu and still link to them, you can just use the default URL in your theme since the pages still exist.

  • Archive URL: your.domain/archive
  • About URL: your.domain/about

TIP: If you’re using the Marfa theme and your profile photo isn’t appearing at the top of your site, check to see if you’re using an ad-blocker on the page. Privacy Badger by Mozilla is one example of a blocker with strict default settings.
